Happy Blankie Launches with a 'One to Love, One to Give' Mission Spreading Smiles Through Hospitals Globally

CLEVELAND, May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- David Holdridge, the budding entrepreneur behind Happy Blankie, a company that creates soft, plush, die-cut blankets in fun animal shapes, has decided to officially launch his business on his 10th birthday, May 5th, 2010 and is on a mission to inspire other kids his age that "giving is cool."

Happy Blankies were created to help children in hospitals all over the world smile and feel a little safer and more secure at night. With their "One to Love, One to Give" mission, for every blanket sold, Happy Blankie donates the same blanket to a child in a hospital or orphanage.

Holdridge was discovered two years ago by CNBC's Donny Deutsch, when he presented the concept of Happy Blankie on Deutsch's coveted entrepreneurial show, "The Big Idea." With the support of his mom Emily Holdridge and the backing of internet marketing guru Greg Clement, founder of Realeflow, David's "big idea" is now a reality.

Holdridge, along with a few of his close friends, will be kicking off the brand's debut by donating 100 blankets to their local Ronald McDonald House in Akron, Ohio. "I can't wait to see all of the kids' faces when they get their Happy Blankies," David said about his upcoming donation event. "I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate on my birthday than by giving these blankies to kids who are really in need of a smile."

Happy Blankie will work with hospitals and orphanages around the world, as close as Canton, Ohio and as far as Thailand, and will be delivering blankets every few months to children in distressed situations and in need of some comfort.

Happy Blankie is launching with four classic animal friends - Chase the Dog, Giggle the Pig, Stomp the Frog and Tumble the Bear, each available in three sizes. Prices range from $29 - $149 and monogramming is available.
