Happy Fuel joins United Nations in celebrating annual International Day of Happiness

Mar 20, 2014, 09:30 ET from Happy Fuel LLC

NEW YORK, March 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Happy Fuel is helping the world celebrate today's International Day of Happiness, which was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2012.

Happy Fuel is a happiness-based social network, which began as an iPhone app in 2013 (available at the Apple App Store), that gives users a mobile place to store, gauge, and share the things that fuel their happy, whether it's a song, photo, video, place, sound, or thought.

Since then, Happy Fuel has added a web-based app, happyfuel.me, which features a "Happy Wall" — a personal place for users to share the things that make them happy, and view highlights from Happy Fuel friends.  The company also creates happiness-based multimedia products, such as the infographic video "10 Ways to Live in the Happy."

"We are thrilled that the United Nations has recognized the importance of happiness in our daily lives," said Happy Fuel founder Elizabeth Elfenbein. "Many studies have noticed a strong connection between happiness and healthiness, and that's something worth celebrating."

According to survey results cited on the International Day of Happiness website, dayofhappiness.net, "87% of people would prefer to live in a society with the greatest happiness rather than the greatest wealth."

"At Happy Fuel, we believe every day can be a Day of Happiness," added Elfenbein. "And our products give you a fun, easy way to discover, store, and share the things that make them happy."

Happy Fuel will be taking happiness to the streets today, handing out branded balloons and buttons in New York City's Madison Square Park and Flatiron district from 12:00 PM-2:00 PM.
