Harbor Maintenance Trust Fund Fairness Coalition Applauds Scheduled Hearing and Markup on RAMP Act - Realize America's Maritime Promise
WASHINGTON, July 6, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Harbor Maintenance Trust Fund Fairness Coalition applauds Congressman Bob Gibbs, (R-OH), Chairman of the Water Resources and Environment Subcommittee, for holding a hearing on H.R. 104, the RAMP Act, Friday, July 8, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. EDT, with markup to follow immediately after testimony.
The RAMP Act, introduced by Congressman Charles Boustany (R-LA) and Congressman Joe Courtney (D-CT), and supported by a broad bi-partisan group of Congressional interests, ensures funds in the Harbor Maintenance Trust Fund are used for their intended purpose of dredging and maintaining coastal ports, harbors, and waterways. Barry Holliday, Chairman of the Harbor Maintenance Trust Fund Fairness Coalition stated, "Our members are very pleased that the Water Resources and Environment Subcommittee will be taking testimony on H.R. 104, the RAMP Act. While 14 members of the Subcommittee are already among the bill's 101 House co-sponsors, it is very important that more Americans learn about this critical jobs and port infrastructure bill. This bill keeps faith with our taxpayers while ensuring that our American exports are shipped as economical as possible in a very competitive world marketplace."
The hearing and markup can be watched on the House webcast.
