'Head Exposed' Releases Procurement Guide Especially for Women and Minorities

NEW YORK, Nov. 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Head Exposed, founded by the Small Business Administration's 2008 "Young Entrepreneur of the Year" Nelson Nigel, will release the third installment in its series of e-books on procurement, the selling of goods and services to government agencies and major corporate entities, on November 9, 2011. "Women and Minorities Procurement Exposed" will be available through amazon.com, as well as through http://www.womenandminoritiesprocurementopportunities.com. It will be offered at a special price of $17.95.

"Women and minorities, even now, face special challenges, and have specific needs, when it comes to getting a foothold in the business world. Luckily, there are programs to help level the playing field. This book gives them the resources for finding those programs, as well as everything they need to know about navigating the whole process," says Nigel.

Procurement is a $500 billion a year business. While it pertains to the purchase of high-ticket items like military vehicles, it also includes more everyday, smaller-ticket items such as office supplies and services such as supplying janitorial staff.

Nigel has already released e-books on selling to the United States government (http://www.governmentprocurement.com) and to corporations (http://www.corporationprocurement.com). In the next few months he will release the last in the series, geared specifically toward the construction industry. All four books, as well as other miscellaneous materials, will be included under the umbrella site http://www.headexposed.com.

After laying the groundwork with these five web sites, Nigel will introduce WWW.PROOKURE.COM in February of 2012. A central database customized according to geographic location, it will serve as a business-to-business listing, connecting vendors and clients -- corporate, governmental, and within the construction industry -- on a global scale.

"This registry will allow smaller private enterprises to connect with major corporations worldwide in a way they have ever been able to before," says Nigel.  

It is likely to be a subscription-based service.

About Nelson Nigel

Nelson Nigel studied design and construction under master architect Mark Strauss of FXFOWLE, and received his Bachelor's Degree in Cultural Anthropology from Queens College. He studied construction management under Bovis Lend Lease, Turner Construction, and at Columbia University, Pace University and Medgar Evers College (in conjunction with Forest City Rathner Companies); document management under Dominique Paraison of McKissack & McKissack Architects; and construction accounting at New York City Tech under Robert Brewer of Grassi CPAs.

By 2002, he established himself as a real estate developer when he founded his company Nelson Nigel New York. Among NNNY's projects is the development of an 8-unit building in the Bronx, NY in 2007. Nigel has often been engaged as a speaker, and taught bi-weekly workshops on credit management and motivation, as well as a seminar on entrepreneurship, at College Point Arts Center in Queens, NY.
