Statistically, "the elderly population will grow even faster as 76 million baby boomers reach age 65 and older between 2010 and 2030. By 2030, older adults will account for 20 percent of the nation's total population. By comparison, older adults made up 13 percent of the country's population in the year 2000" – according to a San Diego Union-Tribune article, July 2014. North County is and will continue to be impacted by this trend and the North County Health Summit will address this current and future outlook.
