TAMPA, Fla., June 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Health Integrated, Inc., a recognized innovator in care management strategies with special expertise in managing vulnerable, fragile and at-risk individuals, has received Case Management Accreditation from NCQA for its Case Management programs.
"We are honored to be one of just five organizations throughout the country that have achieved this accomplishment," said Shan Padda, chairman and chief executive officer of Health Integrated. "We firmly believe that everyone deserves a dignified, quality care experience and that keeping our world its healthiest is the right thing to do. By delivering the right care in the right setting at the right time, we can contain costs appropriately to keep healthcare affordable and sustainable, and help those most vulnerable members of society through their health challenges at some of the most difficult points in their lives."
Earning NCQA's Case Management Accreditation is an indication that a Case Management program is dedicated to care coordination, patient-centeredness and improving quality of care: getting the right care to patients. The standards are intended to help organizations achieve the highest level of performance possible, increase adherence to care guidelines and create an environment of continuous improvement. Standards are set high to encourage Case Management organizations to continuously enhance the quality or services they deliver. NCQA Case Management Accreditation is the only program that focuses on care transition.
"Case Management Accreditation moves [our industry] closer to measuring quality across population health management initiatives," said Margaret E. O'Kane, President, NCQA. "Not only does it add value to existing quality improvement efforts; it also demonstrates an organization's commitment to the highest degree of improving the quality of their patients' care."
Sam Toney, chief medical officer and executive vice president of clinical integrity, added: "Our commitment to quality is clearly reflected in the work we do throughout our organization, from the Quality Improvement team led by Karen Lynn Comes, RN, to each and every clinician on the floor. And now, to have achieved this recognition from NCQA with its highest accreditation status of three years is clearly validation of the work we do."
NCQA Accreditation standards are developed with input from researchers in the field, the Case Management Expert Panel and standing committees, employers, both purchasers and operators of Case Management programs, state and federal regulators and other experts.
