Health Systems Use Fulcrum Methods Electronic Methodology to Maximize ARRA Meaningful Use Economic Incentives
OAKLAND, Calif., Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Fulcrum Methods, the leading developer of methodologies to assist health care providers with systems lifecycle project management, announced today the formal release of a meaningful use methodology. Hospitals and eligible provider clients use the methodology to ensure proper electronic health record assessment, remediation and project governance throughout the meaningful use reporting period, with the goal of maximizing federal stimulus dollars.
The methodology includes a user-friendly, interactive tool that can assess multiple EHRs throughout health care organizations, across campuses or affiliated organizations. Reviewing six major clinical areas, Fulcrum users have access to over 340 separate meaningful use components sourced directly from federal criteria. The tool also scopes remediation requirements and supports attestation efforts through a flexible report writing module. In addition, Fulcrum delivers a work plan and guidebook to assist organizations with meaningful use project governance, staff education and remediation effort cost-benefit analysis. Other project deliverables include committee charters and a risk management plan.
"Our new methodology provides health care organizations with an extensive knowledge base with respect to meaningful use best practices," said Joseph DeLuca, Chief Knowledge Architect at Fulcrum Methods. "This is an effective, easy-to-use and timely methodology that will help providers meet certified EHR standards and meaningful use criteria."
The Fulcrum meaningful use methodology can be used on its own or in conjunction with Fulcrum's vendor selection and systems implementation methodologies. Using all three methodologies provides a turnkey EHR selection and implementation solution that supports meeting meaningful use requirements.
