HealthPartners and Welltok Partner to Power Well-being Programs

New partnership promises to deliver a more personalized health experience

BLOOMINGTON, Minn., April 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- HealthPartners has entered a multi-year partnership with Welltok, Inc., a leading consumer health technology company. The partnership will allow HealthPartners to offer a more personalized health experience for participants.

While more organizations are focusing on the health of their members and employees, they are also learning that a "one-size-fits-all" approach doesn't work. An experience is most effective when it's tailored to each person. That means taking into account things like what motivates them, their age, gender, health status and preferences.

"Partnering with Welltok helps us take what we've already been doing to the next level. We'll be able to easily and effectively support participants based on their specific needs or goals."

The new health personalization platform will help motivate participants to take steps to better health. They can create customized health goals, like eating less salt, exercising 10 minutes a day or managing blood sugar. And, they can get rewarded for meeting these goals. The technology also goes beyond physical health to address emotional and financial health. This includes suggesting programs and resources that may help reduce stress or save money.

Because the technology is linked to their health plan, participants can get the most out of their health plan benefits. For example, getting insight on what it would cost to visit the emergency room, or where to go for the most affordable care based on their specific plan.

HealthPartners is rolling out the new platform to select individual and small group plan members this month. They'll have a greatly improved online and mobile experience. HealthPartners will extend the platform to commercial large group markets in 2018.
