Heart Walks across North Texas on Sept. 10 Expected to Break Records

DALLAS, Sept. 9, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Three American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Walks will kick off across North Texas on Saturday, Sept. 10. All three walks will take place simultaneously with opening ceremonies at 8:30 a.m.

The AHA's Heart Walk is a 5k and 1-mile non-competitive walk that promotes walking as part of a healthy lifestyle and raises funds to support cardiovascular research and educational programs throughout North Texas. Participants walk to raise awareness of two of the nation's leading causes of death – heart disease and stroke. Nearly 801,000 people in the U.S. die from heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases each year.
