HeartSine® Technologies and the Newtown Township Police Join Forces

NEWTOWN, Pa., Nov. 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- HeartSine^® Technologies, Inc., a world leader in personal and public access defibrillators, announced today it will work together with the Newtown Township Police Department (Pennsylvania) to help fulfill its goal of having a HeartSine AED (Automated External Defibrillator) in every squad car.

To kick off the collaboration, the company has donated the HeartSine samaritan^® PAD 300P Public Access Defibrillator, HeartSine's lifesaving product for the treatment of sudden cardiac arrest.

Police officers are the first responders in cardiac arrest event and often arrive on the scene before emergency medical service (EMS) personnel.  Therefore, it is important that they are prepared to treat individuals suffering from cardiac arrest with equipment designed to save lives.

HeartSine Automated External Defibrillator (AED) products provide clinically advanced, lifesaving SCOPE™ technology in a single, portable unit. The samaritan PAD 300P is designed to treat children and adults. Its simple two-button operation makes it easy to use by rescuers of all skill levels. The unit is completely self-contained. CPR Heart Starters, Inc. and Safety Training provide the Newtown Township Police Department with one-on-one AED and CPR training.
