Heffler, Radetich & Saitta LLP Announces Former D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty to Represent Firm Based in Washington, D.C.
WASHINGTON, Jan. 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Heffler, Radetich & Saitta LLP, the top-tier, 70-year-old, Philadelphia-based accounting and consulting firm announced today that the firm has added Adrian M. Fenty, the celebrated public servant and lawyer who completed a successful four-year term as Washington mayor this month, as an outside Advisor and Counsel.
Drawing on his extensive government and political network and administrative abilities, Fenty will help further develop and enhance the firm's preeminent position in class action litigation support services, as well as health care industry consulting and forensic accounting services.
"Adrian Fenty's term as Washington mayor showed the country what sharp administrative and leadership abilities he has, and set the table for a fresh set of ideas and growth in his beloved city," said Executive Partners Edward J. Radetich, Jr. and George A. Saitta. "As mayor of the nation's capital, he brings unique experience in dealing with all branches of the Federal government. It is clear to us at Heffler, Radetich & Saitta that he has the talent and robust business network to help us extend our reach in litigation support and to establish an even stronger Washington platform to connect with new clients and business opportunities. It's a great moment for the firm, and, I think, for Adrian."
Fenty agreed. "My work as mayor gave me first-hand exposure to what was and is possible in evolution and growth of services and business, despite government's complex bureaucracy," Fenty said. "I had extensive dealings with the business community in all my government roles. Like Ed, I am confident I can use my experience to find and develop new business opportunities for Heffler, Radetich & Saitta and to help serve our clients across all their fields of endeavor."
As mayor from 2007 to 2011, Fenty gained a reputation for efficient, honest and dynamic leadership, as he worked successfully to improve the schools, brought the crime rate in the city down substantially, and pushed through civil rights legislation, culminating in legalizing same-sex marriage in the District of Columbia with the bill he signed in December 2009.
He also oversaw successful initiatives to expand affordable housing in the District, and to expand health care coverage for the uninsured.
Radetich and Saitta credited Heffler, Radetich & Saitta principal Jerry L. Johnson, who joined in October, 2009, for recruiting Fenty and for developing and growing the consultancy in other ways.
"Jerry not only brought Adrian to us, but his considerable business background has helped us develop more litigation support and other business across industries," they said. Johnson, a former executive with prominent business such as PRWT Services, Inc., Radnor Trust Company, eMoney Advisor, Inc., Safeguard Scientifics, Inc. and US West Communications, is known nationally as a successful business advisor and investor, was named one of the Top 40 Most Powerful Executives in Corporate America by Black Enterprise magazine.
Heffler, Radetich & Saitta is nationally known for its extensive work in litigation support services and administrative services for large class action cases, administering cases dealing with antitrust, securities fraud, product liability, employment settlements, and other class action claims. The group has worked on nearly 600 cases and has overseen the distribution of more than $3 billion in settlement funds and dealt with some 40 million class members. With Fenty on the team, the firm said, they expect to improve even further on those impressive numbers.
