Help Your Little One Overcome Potty Training Speed Bumps and Setbacks

It can be one of the most frustrating parts of potty training; your little one has been in underwear for weeks when suddenly they start to have accidents again.

Potty training regression is a common struggle many parents and little ones face but it can be easily resolved and, with a little help, your child can get back on track.

You could try purchasing a new potty that they can decorate themselves with stickers and marker pens, and remember to lavish them with praise when they use the potty. Reward them with a treat such as colouring books, stickers or crayons and try to ignore any form of regression.

If your child suddenly gets lots of negative attention for any potty training accidents or for regressing, they may become withdrawn and continue to wet themselves. It is important not to make an issue about any accidents they may have and to stay positive throughout.

For this reason, praise your toddler any time they get back on the potty and start getting back on track. Even if they don't go in the potty but just sit on it, give them lots of positive praise and feedback.
