
Helping Teens Learn in an Era of Digital Overload: A Panel Discussion Featuring Experts on Teens and Technology at Orinda Academy on March 20, 2010
ORINDA, Calif., March 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Orinda Academy (OA), a private, non-profit, co-educational day school serving grades 7-12, in conjunction with Student Organizational Services (SOS), will present a panel discussion, Helping Teens Learn in an Era of Digital Overload. The discussion will provide tools for parents to help them negotiate and set parameters for teens' use of technology.
The event will be held at Orinda Academy, 19 Altarinda Road in Orinda, California on Saturday March 20, from 10 am to noon.
Panelists will include Beth Samuelson, MA, Director of SOS, which offers academic coaching and customized study strategies and techniques; Jason Brand, LCSW, who specializes in positive adolescent technology relationships; Rona Renner, RN, parent educator and Childhood Matters radio talk show host; Paul Lipson, former OA music teacher, technology teacher, and video game designer, currently president of the Game Audio Network Guild and the COO and Composer at Pyramind, Inc.; and OA student, Dylan Kimsey-Hutchinson, a digital music composer, Facebook and video game enthusiast and valedictorian for OA class of 2010 who will be attending Carnegie Mellon University in Fall 2010.
