Hemp, Inc. (OTC: HEMP) Hopeful Kentucky's Industrial Hemp Industry Will Emerge after Passage of Senate Bill 50

LAS VEGAS, April  3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Hemp, Inc. (OTC: HEMP), in its effort to support the industrial hemp movement after Kentucky Senate Bill 50 passed, announced standing offer for 4-year exclusive purchasing rights of Kentucky farmers' crops after approved legislation last week to permit industrial hemp production in Kentucky.  According to the company's CEO, they would rather support U.S. farmers than to depend on imports from China or Canada for hemp-containing finished products and/or hemp ingredients for use in further processing.  Senate Bill 50 will regulate and license the hemp industry in Kentucky, but only if the Federal government legalizes its production.

While Colorado, Maine, Montana, North Dakota, Oregon, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia, and now Kentucky have all approved legislation that legalizes hemp production, farmers will not be growing hemp in any state until the federal government lifts its restrictions. Not to mention, those state officials opposed to the legalization believe the cost to 'police' or 'monitor' crops in the state will be exorbitant, as they will include such actions as background checks and GPS plotting of acreage. But according to Perlowin, the state would not have to incur any cost for third party verification companies to inspect crops.

Specifically, the Bill shall establish conditions and procedures for the licensing of industrial hemp growers by the Department of Agriculture and require the department to coordinate a criminal history check with the assistance of law enforcement agencies.
