Hempistry to Accept Bids for Ultra-Premium, High CBD Kentucky Hemp Crop - Harvest Now Underway in Hopkins County, Kentucky
LOS ANGELES and MADISONVILLE, Kentucky, November 19, 2018 /PRNewswire/ --
Hempistry, Inc., a leading cultivator of high CBD content, legally grown industrial hemp announces a successful crop at its Hopkins County, Kentucky site, the primary harvest of which began this week after a successful test of crop samples by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture (KDA). Hempistry invites interested parties to contact Company representatives to place bids on the crop.
Hempistry's cultivation in Hopkins County, Kentucky consists of 100 acres of high grade, CBD rich, industrial hemp legally grown under the KDA's Industrial Hemp Research Pilot Program as authorized by KRS 260.850-260.869, and 7 U.S.C.§ 5940 (also known as Section 7606 of the 2014 Federal Farm Bill). The crop was registered (MOU# 18-58-05G) under the KDA Hemp Program prior to cultivation and recently received official certification from state officials certifying the test samples are in compliance with requirements set forth by the state. Hempistry has also completed additional test protocols receiving Certificates of Analysis (COAs) via private laboratories indicating high CBD levels, THC-A levels below maximum thresholds, and other particulars of the hemp crop. No pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilizers were used on the field prior to cultivation or on the plants during the growing season and none were detected through the testing protocols.
Mr. Matt Longo, Chief Operation Officer and Head of Cultivation at Hempistry commented, "The Kentucky cultivation produced a beautiful crop. We had within Hopkins County almost ideal growing conditions this year with a near optimal mix of sunshine and ample rain, which produced strong premium quality plants with impressive flowers. Our main harvest is well underway and we are very proud of this high grade hemp product we are now making available to the marketplace."
Hempistry plans to offer two types of deliveries to customers. The first product to be made available will consist of milled biomass, equaling approximately 450,000 pounds. The second will consist of the highest quality trimmed hemp flowers suitable for either direct unprocessed consumption or extraction into ultra-high grade distillate, isolate, or other similar products. Because these batches of flowers will consist of only the most premium portion of the 2018 harvest, only 10,000 pounds of the Workhorse variety and 10,000 of the Cobbler variety will be made available to customers.
With it first successful industrial hemp crop now certificated by KDA and workers in process of harvesting the crop, executives at the Company are already planning for a larger cultivation effort for the 2019 growing season.
Mr. Patrick McMahon, Chief Executive Officer, commented, "Our planning efforts for next year are well underway and while its too early to state our 2019 growing season goals, it is clear Hempistry will be back next year with an even larger cultivation within beautiful Hopkins County, Kentucky. While all of us at Hempistry are certainly proud of our new hemp crop and the high quality product we will soon be shipping into the marketplace, we are also very excited about the positive contribution we have been able to make in Hopkins County, Kentucky via our investments and our recent job production in the area. Thank you to all of our new workers, investors, and forward thinking leaders in Hopkins County, the State of Kentucky, the 1st congressional district of the United States House of Representatives and to the U.S. Senators from Kentucky for the strong support offered to the emerging Kentucky hemp industry. We are certainly looking forward to another successful hemp cultivation season in 2019."
Parties interested in the crop are able to make inquiries and bids on the Company's website at http://www.Hempistry.com. Certificates of analysis will be made available to qualified parties.
