Hesco Bastion, Inc, Awarded DLA Contract

Hesco Bastion, Inc. following a competitive tender process has been awarded an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract for force protection expeditionary barrier systems by the U.S Defense Logistics Troop Support Agency (DLA).

HESCO^® earth-filled barriers have proven themselves repeatedly in conflict situations, protecting lives and assets, and yesterday the DLA, America's combat logistics support agency, announced the award with maximum contract limit of $500,000,000.

HESCO earth-filled barriers have been used throughout recent operations in Afghanistan, including Camp Leatherneck and Camp Bastion, forming areas of compartmentalisation to keep soldiers safe from indirect and direct fire within their accommodation areas. HESCO barriers were also used in remote areas to construct Forward Operating Bases at which entire compounds were made from HESCO baskets including guard posts, medical facilities, ammunition stores, and even washroom facilities.

When asked about his first experience with HESCO barriers a former US Solider said;

"I first saw HESCO barriers in '95 in Bosnia, and at that time only the Brits were using them. We were filling sandbags and were pretty jealous. When you arrive at camp and see the HESCO walls, you immediately feel safe."

The award is a two-year base contract with three one-year option periods, and with the recent launch of Hesco Armor, LLC, offering specially engineered lightweight ballistic resistant plates, and the recent US Army Core of Engineers contract for the supply of HESCO Flood Lined units for the National Flood Fight Centre, Illinois, USA, the Hesco Group are keeping true to their Mission: Defend, Protect, Secure.
