PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Moneka Hewlett has been promoted to Vice President of Sales at Quirk Books, effective immediately. This promotion is a recognition of the sales leadership and growth Hewlett has brought to Quirk during her tenure.
Hewlett joined Quirk in 2011 as Senior Sales Director. Previously, she held the position of senior director of publishing sales at VIZ Media. During her time at Quirk, Hewlett has been an integral part of the publisher's growth in the physical, digital, and subsidiary rights marketplaces. She has helped to raise the publisher's retail visibility and expand and diversify its retail market share. As a key player in Quirk's digital program, Hewlett recently launched the Quirk Perks initiative—a monthly discount on select e-books available to members of the company's Planet Quirk and Quirk D.I.Y. communities. Also under her supervision, Quirk has seen strong territory and product growth in the subsidiary rights channel.
Hewlett will continue to direct, execute, and manage Quirk's retail, licensing, and subsidiary rights sales strategy across all platforms, markets, and channels. In addition, she will build upon the tremendous sales success Quirk has seen in partnership with the Random House Publisher Services sales team.
