Built to Connect Patients and Providers, the HFSA Database is Now Open for Searching and Submissions

WASHINGTON, Aug. 14, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The Heart Failure Society of America (HFSA) is proud to announce the official launch of the HFSA Heart Failure Clinic Database — a centralized, publicly accessible national registry of heart failure clinics in the U.S. Designed to support system-wide improvements in heart failure (HF) management and outcomes, the HFSA Heart Failure Clinic Database addresses five specific goals:

1. Expand visibility and access
2. Promote clinical standards
3. Foster research and collaboration
4. Advance health equity; and
5. Support industry engagement.

Available now, the searchable platform is calling on HF clinics nationwide to input their information to ensure comprehensive, accurate listings.

A Multifaceted Tool Supporting Clinicians, Researchers and Patients

The HFSA Heart Failure Clinic Database is a multi-faceted tool, offering benefits to many key stakeholders. The database includes data points such as clinic locations, services, staffing levels, procedures (e.g., heart transplants, left ventricular assist device surgery), and research activities. The aim is to create a secure, web-hosted relational database that allows for easy data capture, import, and reporting capabilities.

HF clinicians and researchers can use the database to:

• Find a clinic that offers advanced diagnostics, like genetic testing and angiography, for patient referrals
• Compare staffing numbers to patient volume to identify areas of improvement
• Identify where ongoing HF research is taking place to collaborate with research sites for patient enrollment in clinical trials
• Review patient volume and discharge data, to adjust clinical approaches, seek additional resources, or identify patterns and trends that could inform new studies or treatment protocols
• Make it easier for existing patients and newly diagnosed patients to find their clinic, by maintaining an updated listing

Patients living with HF can use the database to:

• Easily search for HF clinics: Locate clinics nearby that provide comprehensive care for HF, from initial diagnosis to advanced treatments.

Industry will benefit as well by having access to key data and information that is not currently available in one easy-to-use location.

Growing Tool – Future Updates Anticipated

As clinics enter data, the network will grow and expand, therefore, clinics are urged to register their clinic. Additionally, HFSA will continue to offer enhancements, such as reports and benchmarking tools.

As it grows, the HFSA Heart Failure Clinic Database will empower patients with valuable insights for better treatment decisions, help identify HF care gaps and inequities, facilitate research collaboration, and help clinicians improve their staffing and resource allocation.
