High Style Events™ takes Savannah by storm with full day of events to benefit local non-profit

SAVANNAH, Ga., April 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- High Style Events has announced a new, unique twist on fundraising for local charities. An entire day of wellness, shopping, dining, arts, music and fashion will be held on Thursday, April 23, at the Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum.

A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Coastal Empire branch of the American Cancer Society.

Done in collaboration with the Survivor Glam Squad, each shot is an avant-garde artistic representation of an emotion a cancer survivor goes through on their journey to survival. All shots are done in the "2015 High Style - Savannah" theme (#TheNewClassic) and shot around historic Savannah, Georgia locations. "Contemplation" portrays Ozma Niven in a claw foot tub. ...

An organization that was founded in 2013, High Style Events (previously Rock the Runway™) produces fundraisers for charitable organizations by taking a different approach from the traditional norm.

The event next week promises to "blend the old with the new" under the slogan "The New Classic" (#thenewclassic), mixing the classic style of one of our original 13 colonies with today's media hungry world. The premise of the event is to provide a full day of activities, allowing event-goers to immerse themselves in a 360-degree view of what it means to live life in "High Style."

From yoga classes in the morning to a runway show at night, the event will showcase a wide variety of experiences. "High Style is much more than the clothes on your back. It's meant to cater to all of your senses," said creator Kevin Cartee of Cartee Image Consultants. "This event is the first of its kind in Savannah. We are giving the audience a full day of health, beauty and balance."

Cartee and his team drew their inspiration from the struggle every cancer survivor goes through as they battle the disease. In the editorial shoot to promote the event, they feature a young model that is a Hodgkin's Lymphoma survivor. Through the photographs, the creative team shows the different stages of acceptance and surrender that a cancer patient goes through while undergoing treatment.
