Highland Capital Adds to Business Development Staff

DALLAS, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Highland Capital Management L.P. ("Highland"), an investment management firm based in Dallas, Texas, announced today that Clay Shumway has joined the firm as a director in its business development group.

Mr. Shumway will help Highland develop and manage relationships with institutional investors, including public and corporate pension plans, endowments and foundations and wealth management firms. He reports to Kevin Latimer, partner, head of business development and marketing for Highland. Mr. Shumway will be based in Dallas.

Mr. Shumway has 10 years of investment industry business development experience. He joins Highland from Newcastle Capital Management, where he was Vice President of Business Development and Investor Relations. Before that, he held the same position at Swank Capital. Earlier in his career, he held sales roles with JPMorgan and Goldman Sachs. Mr. Shumway has a MBA in Investments and Finance from the University of Notre Dame, and a B.S. in Economics from the University of Utah.
