Hilarious New Comedy Web Series Spoofing So-Called "Experts" Launches Today
Playwright, TV and Broadway actors, and rap star team up for first season of Brad Advice
NEW YORK, March 31, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The world is full of self-proclaimed "experts" who peddle advice on anything and everything – from personal growth to public relations to politics. And when the rich and famous need advice, they turn to Brad Johnston... He's full of it.
That's the topic of a brand new comedy web series, Brad Advice, about a public speaking coach from hell. It was launched today with five short, fast-paced episodes.

It's written and directed by accomplished playwright Brandt Johnson (huckster expert Brad Johnston is his alter ego) and is a hilarious parody of an industry where many "experts" get rich giving out terrible advice.
In addition to being a playwright and actor, Johnson is a former investment banker, a former European pro basketball player who also played with the hapless traveling opponents of the Harlem Globetrotters, and – yes – a presentation skills coach to corporate executives.
His inspiration for the series: "So much bad advice about how to communicate has been planted in people's minds. I wanted to consider what kind of person dispenses such advice. Meet Brad, champion of the unfounded opinion."
The stars include comedian, actress and TV personality Judy Gold, professional rapper Keith "Wildchild" Middleton, Broadway actors Summer Broyhill and Stephen Bradbury, fashion model Martina Dimitrova – and iconic New York places like the Ansonia and Grand Central Terminal as scenic backdrops.
The episodes are "The Candidate," starring a bumbling mayoral candidate with a bit of a resemblance to Rudy Giuliani; "The Rapper," featuring a real-life rap star who needs help with his Grammy acceptance speech; "The Bond Trader," about a bullying bond trader (Gold) who "rips people's throats out,"; "The Fitness Star," about a frenetic and wacky exercise guru; and "The Niece," a kooky piece about an adorable niece – what else?
Johnson has authored and performed in three plays: Killer Therapy, Just Sex, and Give and Go: Learning from Losing to the Harlem Globetrotters. The New York Times praised Just Sex for its "sharp writing," while nytheater.com applauded Give and Go for its "tightly defined... collection of hilarious philosophers."
