CHICAGO, Jan. 17, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Hill Rom's (NYSE: HRC) Welch Allyn business today announced that its contracted tele-ophthalmology service provider, RetinaVue, P.C., has earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval® for Ambulatory Health Care Accreditation by demonstrating continuous compliance with its nationally recognized standards.

The Gold Seal of Approval® is a symbol of quality that reflects an organization's commitment to providing safe and effective patient care. RetinaVue, P.C. is the first tele-ophthalmology provider ever to receive the esteemed quality recognition, typically reserved for hospitals and ambulatory care facilities.

Images are then securely transmitted through the Welch Allyn HIPAA-compliant RetinaVue software platform for interpretation by state-licensed, board-certified ophthalmologists who provide a diagnostic report and referral/care plan within one business day.
