Hill's and AGL announce strategic alliance to advance veterinary health care for dogs
Vetrax medical analytics offer window into canine behavior and efficacy of therapeutic nutrition
ORLANDO, Fla., Jan. 16, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Today at the NAVC Conference, Hill's Pet Nutrition Inc. and AGL announced a strategic alliance that will combine Hill's expertise in pet nutrition with AGL's new VetraxTM veterinary medical analytics system. The collaboration is expected to provide veterinarians and their clients with a new level of understanding about how therapeutic nutrition can help improve a dog's health and behavior — specifically scratching and mobility.

Vetrax is a robust veterinary medical device and information platform designed to more quickly alert veterinarians and pet owners to potential health concerns as part of an ongoing monitoring program. It incorporates specially developed dog-behavior algorithms with state-of-the-art sensors and data-sharing capabilities, and is the first system sophisticated enough to distinguish the acts of scratching or shaking from running. Veterinarians will recommend Vetrax for dogs that need to be regularly monitored, including those with dermatological conditions, arthritis or obesity.
Vetrax is now in tests with select veterinary practices. It will be marketed exclusively to veterinarians and is expected to become more widely available to clinics later this year.
The strategic alliance between Hill's and AGL is an exclusive agreement involving therapeutic nutrition, the Vetrax technology, and data associated with various symptoms of medical conditions in pets, including scratching and reduced mobility.
