Himfr Reports Paper Prices Increase Slowly

BEIJING, Jan. 14 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Himfr.com, one of China's leading B2B search platforms with more than 30 B2B industry websites to its name, reports paper prices are increasing slowly.

Compared with last week, the price of two-sided scotch tape was up 0.6 percent this week; coated paper prices went up again this week, rising 1.5 percent; duplex paperboard prices this week are unchanged; white cardboard price slightly rose 0.89 percent this week; Box board/corrugated paper, newsprint and kraft paper prices remained basically unchanged.

Imported pulp and waste paper prices stabilized. This week, the European pulp prices and the U.S. dollar pulp prices were significantly higher. Because of the RMB this month, the major pulp producing country continued depreciation of the currency exchange rate trend. The main import pulp brand price was up 1.27 percent this week. Waste paper prices rose this week; the U.S., European, Japanese and the major waste paper labels respectively rose 0.18 percent, 2.30 percent and 2.08 percent.

Himfr's current new production data show that paper products cumulative production has grown significantly year-on-year, but pulp yearly cumulative production has declined year-on-year.

Since 2009 paper output growth first plunged and then picked up with the demand for upgrading. In November cumulative production reached 75.82 million tons, with an increase rate of 8.6 percent; pulp output of the first 11 months was 15.76 million tons, down 10.34 percent year-on-year. This positive growth with the paper industry upside down is mainly due to massive imports of cheap wood pulp leading to underemployment.

Pulp imports significantly increased, but the amount moderately declined. Paper with the amount of imports in November, the accumulated growth rates were 11.11 percent and 17.14 percent. The cumulative growth rate of pulp imports from November reached 41.77 percent, while the amount recovered in November fell to 5.1 percent. (http://himfr.com/list-product-Books-25010000-1.html )
