READING, Penn., April 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Think you've got a burger recipe that can hit one out of the ball park? Step up to the plate and enter the Philly-Gourmet Grand Slam Burger Recipe Contest for a chance at becoming the MVC (Most Valuable Cook) of the competition.

Simply submit an original recipe using Philly-Gourmet 100% Pure Beef Homestyle Patties – ready-to-cook frozen burgers that make quick work of a before-game meal or any other time when you need to whip up lunch or dinner in minutes. Entries will be judged on originality, taste, visual appeal, and suitability for summer enjoyment.

The MVC (aka the winner) will receive a tailgate cooking kit imprinted with the name of his or her hometown Major League Baseball team. The kit will contain all the gear required to cook a tailgate party – including stove, skillet, saucepan, cooking utensils, and butane fuel cartridges – all packaged in an easy-to-carry nylon case. It can also be used for camping, hunting, fishing, RVing, boating, picnics, barbecues and in any other out-of-kitchen cooking environment.

The contest runs from April 15 through July 15, 2011. Winners will be selected by July 25.  All entries must include the name, address, email address (if available) and telephone of the entrant as well as the recipe, and be time-stamped or postmarked no later than July 15.
