Holcim (US) Launches Masonry App at World of Concrete

WALTHAM, Mass., Jan. 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Holcim (US) (www.holcim.us), one of the nation's leading manufacturers and suppliers of cement and mineral components, will introduce its Rainbow Masonry Designer App at this year's World of Concrete (WOC) tradeshow. The iPad application will allow architects to collaborate in real time with building owners and/or construction companies to visually select brick facades that reflect a project's vision.

The Masonry Designer App allows users to view and select brick colors, pattern/bond and mortar colors in real time. Once a combination is selected, a PDF of the choices can be sent to various brick manufacturers for samples and estimates.  By dynamically selecting brick colors, patterns and one of the sixty different Rainbow mortar colors available, much of the guesswork and color speculation can be avoided.  The free application is supported by the Apple iOs for the iPad via web browsers.  Holcim (US) experts will be available at booth N 1327 to demonstrate the application and brief attendees on key features.

WOC attendees visiting the Holcim (US) booth can also speak with company experts about the company's cements, masonry solutions, and Envirocore family of eco-efficient products. Other technology solutions including Holcim's weatherApp, which utilizes ACI standards tied to global forecasting to determine the favorability of conditions for placing concrete, will be highlighted. The Holcim (US) booth will also feature various case studies and information about the fourth cycle of the Holcim Awards.
