Holcim (US) Receives Excellence in Operations Award
Theodore Plant Recognized by the Alabama Water Environmental Association for Outstanding Environmental Efforts
WALTHAM, Mass., April 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Holcim (US) Inc. (www.holcim.us), one of the nation's leading manufacturers and suppliers of cement and mineral components, announced today that its Theodore plant, located in Theodore, AL, received the Excellence in Operations Award from the Alabama Water Environmental Association (AWEA). The award honors companies that obtain perfect or near-perfect regulatory records as dictated by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management.
The Theodore plant was recognized for the superior performance of its storm water treatment system as related to physical treatment of waste water. The AWEA also noted the company's water conservation efforts and community outreach program, which focus on environmental sustainability.

The Theodore plant was one of four companies to receive the award from a pool of more than 60 nominees. The awards ceremony took place at Perdido Beach Resort in Orange Beach, AL on April 8th.
