Holiday Automotive sets goal to raise $35,000 for Fond du Lac Area United Way

FOND DU LAC, Wis., Nov. 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Holiday Automotive is attempting to raise $35,000 toward the Fond du Lac Area United Way's ongoing campaign to raise $760,000. The United Way has currently raised more than $200,000, as of this publication.

With a history of community involvement and participation in various charitable events (http://www.holidayautomotive.com/in-the-community), Holiday Automotive employees have once again stepped up to set a new record within the company for participation and donations during the annual United Way campaign.

As part of an ongoing partnership with the Fond du Lac Area United Way, Holiday Automotive looks to raise $35,000 toward the nonprofit's ultimate goal of $760,000.

In October, president Thor Gilbertson addressed the team at Holiday Automotive along with the Fond du Lac Area United Way's executive director Amber Kilawee. Employees at Holiday Automotive were informed of what the United Way looks to accomplish and encouraged to invest in the community through its initiatives.

"You make our community a better place to live and work, and your generosity, giving what you can, matters," Gilbertson said.

Holiday Automotive employee Lydell Brown is quoted on the Fond du Lac Area United Way's website also talking about giving what one can to charities and non-profits.

"United Way makes it really easy to give and only a little money from each of my paychecks goes a long way in helping serve people in my community," Brown said.

Holiday Automotive will announce its results after all pledge forms have been turned in.

Holiday Automotive's Ford division recently co-hosted a Drive 4 UR Community event that raised $20 for every household that took a new Ford vehicle for a test drive. Test drives at the event were free and donations were contributed by the Ford Motor Company. Holiday Automotive was successful in hitting the max contribution of $6,000 during the event, which will also contribute to its total goal of $35,000.
