ASHEBORO, N.C., Nov. 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Who would have thought that a cut on the hand from chicken wire while making outdoor Christmas light balls would lead to one of this season's hottest holiday decorations? That's what happened when two Asheboro, NC mold building partners had a vision to make this holiday task easier for everyone, including themselves. New DecoShape globes make building Christmas light balls simple and fast. "Before DecoShape, people would make holiday light balls from chicken wire, which meant a lot of time getting materials, using sheers to cut and form the wire into a circle while trying not to get cut or snag your clothes," said Patrick Coyne of Coyne & Co., an advertising and branding company who partnered with the small town entrepreneurs. "The design is simple. The three plastic rings just snap together, you wrap the lights and you're done in minutes. No more sitting on your cold garage floor cutting and bending chicken wire for hours."

After a successful test in 2012, the team put their heads together to refine packaging, build a business plan and a sales program to take to bigger retailers. This is when DecoShape caught the eye of the world's largest retailer, Wal-Mart, who awarded DecoShape regional distribution this season. Other retailers like Old Time Pottery, Carolina Pottery and several Ace Hardware stores also loved the idea of this simple and festive holiday decoration. "We have distribution across the country," added Coyne. "Yes, we're in large retailers but smaller local craft, specialty and hardware stores are also supporting us with displays and ads that are driving new holiday sales while selling more lights and extension cords, too."
DecoShape is available in 10", 15" and 20" sizes in green and white. Many towns and municipalities have bought the 20" size to hang throughout their streets. "Another reason everyone loves DecoShape is that we are made in the USA, which is unusual for so many holiday items," said Coyne. "And unlike a light ball made from chicken wire, you can easily take your DecoShape globe apart and store it flat. You can also use the globe for making other decorations using ribbons, floral, etc. It's really a year round item." Learn more at decoshape.com.
