OWINGS MILLS, Md., Nov. 28, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Home Properties, Inc. (NYSE: HME) today announced its Baltimore area apartment communities have received multiple awards for industry excellence at the 16^th Annual MMHA Star Awards, as presented by the Maryland Multi-Housing Association, Inc. Home Properties owns and operates 25 MMHA-member communities totaling over 11,000 units in the Baltimore area.

Among the most significant honors presented to Home Properties was the Shining Star Award, given to Regional Vice President, Miki Wilson. This award honors an individual who has demonstrated outstanding service to MMHA. Home Properties' Essie O'Donoghue, a leasing consultant at Owings Run Apartment, received the GOLD Stellar Leasing Consultant Award, in recognition of extraordinary selling attributes and ability to meet customers' needs.

Eight of Home Properties' Baltimore area communities have been designated as Star-Certified by MMHA, a title given to communities that attain a 90% minimum of required judging criteria for the highest standards of apartment living excellence.  Home Properties received SILVER and BRONZE Stellar Community Awards, given to Middlebrooke Apartments and Saddle Brooke Apartments, respectively.
