Homebuyers Can Grab Slew of Deals at Auction of 170 Foreclosed Homes in Atlanta and More Than 25 in Charlotte
Hudson & Marshall Will Auction Charlotte Homes June 9th and Atlanta Homes June 11th
ATLANTA, May 25, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Buyers combing the housing market for the best deals on the block are racing to foreclosed home auctions to bid on a wide selection of discounted property. Having listed these homes for sale for several months prior to auction, banks are eager to quickly sell them. One of the largest real estate auction firms in the nation, Hudson & Marshall will auction 27 homes in Charlotte, NC June 9th at 7:00 p.m. at the Doubletree Hotel Charlotte Airport. Another 170 properties will be auctioned in Atlanta June 11th at 1:00 p.m. at the Atlanta Marriott Century Center.
All properties auctioned by Hudson & Marshall come with an insurable title, are sold "as-is" and buyers should inspect properties before placing any bids. Buyers will be required to make a cash or certified check deposit of $2,500 for each property which they are the winning bidder. Sales of homes typically close within 30-45 days.
"There is truly a property for every type of buyer at every price range in this auction series from move-in ready homes to fixer uppers, ranging in value from $7,500 to over $270,000, " added Dave Webb, Principal, Hudson & Marshall. "Another benefit to real estate auctions is they allow buyers to bid openly with one another, creating a more transparent purchase process," added Webb.
According to the National Association of Realtors (NAR), the average home price for all types of properties was $163,700 in April, a drop of 5% below the average price in 2010. NAR reported distressed homes sell on average at a 20% discount and accounted for 37% sales in April.
Homes being auctioned may be viewed during the open house scheduled June 4th and June 5th from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. or by contacting listing agents to schedule appointments. Complete property details and additional information may be found at www.hudsonandmarshall.com or by calling 866-539-4172.
Prior to auction, buyers can purchase property online by visiting the website and clicking on the Bid-Now icon. Sellers typically respond to offers within 24 hours. This is a reserve auction, which means sellers have the right to accept, reject or counter any bid; however, in past auctions conducted by Hudson & Marshall, the majority of offers have been accepted.
