HomeMe Selected to Compete in TechCrunch Disrupt NY Battlefield
NEW YORK, May 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- HomeMe, the only app that pre-approves renters for an apartment on demand, announces they've been selected by TechCrunch to compete in the TechCrunch Disrupt Startup Battlefield competition. To celebrate, HomeMe is giving renters nationwide a chance to win one month's free rent starting today.
TechCrunch Disrupt is the world's leading authority in debuting revolutionary startups, introducing game-changing technologies, and discussing what's top of mind for the tech industry's key innovators. Startup Battlefield brings the world's top early stage startups together on one stage to compete for the coveted Disrupt Cup, a $50,000 prize, and the attention of media and investors.
"To celebrate our participation in TechCrunch Disrupt, we are providing an exciting opportunity for everyone to be a part of the HomeMe journey nationwide," says Lindsey Holland, Co-Founder and Vice President of Client Services. "The success of our recent launch has been overwhelmingly positive and this giveaway is the perfect way to engage with our audience."
Additionally, on-site attendees who have their badges scanned at the HomeMe Startup Alley table will be given a key to drop in the "HomeMe Helps" bucket. At the end of the show, HomeMe will donate $1 for every key contributed to locally-based BronxWorks charity to support their homeless outreach team.
"I grew up in the Bronx, so coming back to New York to be featured in this event feels full circle. HomeMe is in the business of helping people easily find their perfect apartment but there a lot of people who don't have that luxury," says Mark Douglas, President and CEO. "We wanted a way to give back locally and involve the TechCrunch Disrupt audience. We encourage everyone to stop by and support the community. The more keys submitted, the more money raised to help."
