Honoring Tales of Its Beginning, Novi Becomes Sixth Outlet for Fanatic U and Detroit-Area Sports Fans

NOVI, Mich., Oct. 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The number six is important in the history of the City of Novi.  According to legend, Novi took its name from the Roman numeral for six, as it was the "No. VI" tollgate along Grand River Ave. or as the "No. VI" township listed in southwest Oakland County. 

The number six took on additional meaning for the city recently as it because the sixth outlet where Detroit sports fans can shop for gear for their favorite teams.

Including the online store at www.FanaticU.com, Fanatic U opened the doors on its sixth location at 25875 Novi Road in Novi.  The new location will be the go-to shop for Tigers fans as the team aims for its fifth World Series title.  It'll also serve as the prime spot for Lions, Red Wings, Pistons, Michigan and Michigan State fans on the west side to gear up for every game.

"To open our sixth location, where else would we go then to the original Number Six," said Greg Every, owner of Fanatic U.  "Detroit sports fans are everywhere and as passionate as we are, so we are thrilled to have a new location on the west side."

The new Novi location is in the City Center Plaza at Grand River Ave. and Novi Road.  The 2,800-square foot store will soon boast all of the amenities sports fans have gotten used to at the other Fanatic U stores, including several big screen televisions to catch all the action while they shop.
