Victoria Convention & Visitors Bureau and Jet Marketing & Advertising win at Advertising Competition
VICTORIA, Texas, April 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The "Bring Your Boots!™" campaign continues to win honors and awards throughout the region. Recently, the Victoria Convention & Visitors Bureau and Jet Marketing & Advertising went to Oklahoma City for the District Ten American Advertising Federation (AAF) to receive two ADDY awards for the campaign; a total of ten awards have been given for the first year of the campaign.
A bronze award was received for the entire campaign in the Mixed Media Category and a bronze award was given for the boot displays in the Point of Purchase category. District Ten encompasses all member advertising and marketing agencies in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Arkansas. The district received almost 13,000 entries at the local level. Gold medal winners at the local level automatically advanced to the district competition. Only about 100 entries from more than 1,000 at the district competition placed and were presented awards at the gala in Oklahoma City.
The "Bring Your Boots" campaign placed two gold awards and a bronze at the local AAF-Victoria competition. One other entry from AAF-Victoria placed at the district level.
"I am just amazed that we placed at the District level. Many campaigns would have been happy to place in one category, but to place in two in the first year of this campaign is just phenomenal," said Bridgette Bise, Executive Director for the Victoria CVB.
"I am so proud of our team for all their hard work on 'Bring Your Boots.' We have won industry travel awards for the campaign and now we are being recognized for good creative work, which is quite a honor," said Janell McPhail, owner of Jet Marketing & Advertising.
"Bring Your Boots" to Victoria, celebrates the array of activities, shopping, restaurants and entertainment venues, including a symphony, ballet, theatre, community college, a four-year university, five museums, a zoo and a rich and vibrant history, which all can be enjoyed in a pair of boots. The Victoria CVB wants Texans to head to Victoria – and bring your boots!
