Hortonworks Appoints Ingrid Burton as Chief Marketing Officer

SANTA CLARA, Calif., July 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Hortonworks^® (NASDAQ:HDP), the leading contributor to and provider of enterprise Apache™ Hadoop®, today announced it has appointed Ingrid Burton as Chief Marketing Officer. She will be responsible for the company's global go-to-market strategy, overseeing all corporate product, digital, field and partner marketing functions. Ingrid is an experienced marketing executive and brings more than 25 years of technology marketing experience to Hortonworks.

Ingrid was previously senior vice president of technology and innovation marketing at SAP where she led marketing for a large portfolio of data and analytics products and technologies, including SAP HANA. Prior to that, she was chief marketing officer at both Silver Spring Networks and Plantronics, as well as more than 15 years holding senior marketing roles at Sun Microsystems and software development roles at GTE, Megatek and United Technologies. She holds a BA in Math with a concentration in Computer Science from San Jose State University.
