Host.net Sponsors Enterprise Cloud Computing Event Feb. 25 for South Florida Technology Alliance
BOCA RATON, Fla., Feb. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Host.net, a multinational provider of network infrastructure services, is sponsoring an Enterprise Cloud Computing event on February 25 through the South Florida Technology Alliance. The gathering at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott North will cover all aspects of virtual data centers –including virtual servers, storage, backup and disaster recovery – and their ability to help organizations reduce IT spending, strengthen data protection, and facilitate regulatory compliance.
The event will begin at 4:30 pm with a workshop titled "Getting Cloud Computing Right" led by Brooks Butler, Technical Account Management Americas, DataCore Software. It will be followed at 5:30 pm with a panel discussion moderated by Jeffrey Slapp, Host.net's VP of Virtualization Services. Panelists will include Butler; Bill Dufresne, Lead Consulting Systems Engineer, Cisco; Patrick Phelan, Southeast Regional Sales Manager, Dell; and David Krafft, Channel Sales Manager - Florida, VMware Inc.
The interactive panel discussion will address key issues faced by many IT managers and C-level executives in the development of new or ongoing virtualization strategies within their organizations. Participants will be able to examine the option of deploying their own internal virtualization platform versus leveraging an external private platform such as Host.net's managed Virtual Private Data Center (vPDC) solution. The vPDC architecture is a custom-built, multi-million-dollar environment engineered with best-of-breed hardware and software from Cisco, DataCore, Dell, StillSecure and VMWare, which is designed to ensure the security, integrity and availability of vital data.
Registration for the event costs $15 for members and $45 for non-members at http://www.southfloridatech.org.
