Hotel and Hospitality Industry Leaders Launch Humboldt Hospitality Advisors, LLC

MCLEAN, Va., May 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Hotel and hospitality industry veterans Tom Baker, Dave Durbin and Marc Magazine today announced the formation of Humboldt Hospitality Advisors, LLC, headquartered in McLean, VA.  The new firm specializes in asset management and hospitality consulting focusing its efforts on the renovation, repositioning and rebranding of troubled lodging assets.  The firm will work strategically and collaboratively with borrowers and lenders to forge effective and creative business solutions.  Humboldt Hospitality will also make targeted capital investments in select lodging assets to facilitate improvements and allow quality assets to recover and improve during the current economic cycle.

Dave Durbin and Tom Baker previously led the executive management team at Crestline Hotels & Resorts in Fairfax, VA.  Durbin served as Crestline's President and Baker as Chief Investment Officer. Marc Magazine was most recently a Senior Vice President in the Washington, DC based Lodging Group of CB Richard Ellis.  

In his leadership position at Crestline, Durbin oversaw the operations of over 70 hotel and resorts, and managed 5,000 associates.  Prior to joining Crestline, Durbin was President and Co-Founder of Durbin Companies, Inc., a privately held hotel management and development company based in McLean, VA.  He also enjoyed a 15-year management career with Marriott Hotels & Resorts.

Tom Baker oversaw Crestline's expansion from its inception in 2000.  Prior to that he was Executive Vice President of Durbin Companies, Inc. where he was responsible for development, property operations and marketing. Baker brings 35 years of hospitality management experience having also worked with Nikko Hotels International, the Essex House in NYC, and various Marriott properties.

At CB Richard Ellis, Marc Magazine was at the forefront of that company's Washington, DC hospitality practice helping to facilitate more than $3 billion dollars in transactions. He started his hospitality career at The Hay Adams Hotel which his family owned and operated.

Also joining Humboldt Hospitality Advisors as Senior Vice President is Justin Magazine.  He was previously an associate at CB Richard Ellis and has held executive marketing positions at Newfound Resorts and at Octagon.
