NYE Travelers Continue Last Year's Trend of Flocking to Sunny Places, Taking Advantage of Great Hotel Deals in Warmer Climates
SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Hotwire.com®, a leading discount travel site, today announced the top ten most popular destinations where revelers plan to ring in the New Year. With blizzards and cold fronts sweeping through the country, it's no surprise that travelers are opting to start their 2014 in warmer weather destinations like Orlando, San Diego, Los Angeles and Miami, in addition to visiting well-known celebration cities like New York, Las Vegas and San Francisco.
Orlando maintains its position as the most popular destination this year, followed by New York City in second and Las Vegas in third. Meanwhile, Chicago drops two spots to fourth, New Orleans jumps up five spots to fifth and San Francisco stays in sixth. Rounding out the second half of the list are San Diego (up one spot to seventh), London (down one spot to eighth), Los Angeles (staying in ninth) and Miami (down five spots to tenth).
