Houston Academy of General Dentistry Names Dr. Randy Farmer of Houston Smile Docs President-Elect of Largest Group in U.S.

HOUSTON, May 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- On Thursday, May 15th the Houston Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) installed its 2014 officers, including President-Elect, Dr. Randy Farmer of Houston Smile Docs. Dr. Farmer's new duties include oversight of continuing dental education affiliated with the Houston AGD as chair of the programming committee, and educational planning for 2015 and beyond.

Dr. Farmer brings more than 25 years of experience as a dentist to his role with the Houston AGD. He has completed rigorous postdoctoral education in dental implantology at University of Texas, San Antonio and with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.  Dr. Farmer's postdoctoral course of study also includes a focus on cosmetic and restorative dental techniques; he graduated from the Center for Advanced Dental Studies in St. Petersburg, Florida, and the Baylor School of Dentistry Esthetic Continuum program.  Dr. Farmer earned his Doctorate of Dental Science from the University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston, and attended Texas A&M for undergraduate learning.

The AGD is our nation's oldest dental organization, and the Houston AGD affiliate is our nation's largest membership group.  The AGD supports its dentist members with a variety of educational opportunities, networking events, mentorships and study clubs which all share the goal of improving dental care for patients and clinicians.
