Houston-based New Look Laser Tattoo Removal Awards National Scholarship

HOUSTON, Aug. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Once again, New Look Laser Tattoo Removal awards an educational scholarship to a well deserving student. Before each spring and fall semester begins, New Look announces the winner of their semiannual scholarship. Recipients are promising students pursuing higher education in the medical field, natural or applied sciences, or engineering.

"We are always trying to implement the most advanced laser technology and practices for our clients," states Kaci Thompson, scholarship coordinator at New Look Laser Tattoo Removal. "Awarding this scholarship allows us to contribute to the education of those who could potentially discover further advancements in the way we perform tattoo removal," added Thompson.

New Look Laser Tattoo Removal has implemented this merit-based scholarship program since November of 2007. "Giving a semiannual scholarship is a great way for us to give back to the scientific community that has given us so much," said Thompson. New Look, located in the Houston's Galleria area, has awarded 12 scholarships to students all across the nation since its inception.

Scholarship entrants are required to fulfill each component of the three part application process in order to be considered for the scholarship. Students must fill out an application that determines if they are eligible based on US citizenship, grade point average, and college or university attendance. Applicants must complete a small online writing project, and lastly, must have a school transcript mailed to New Look Laser Tattoo Removal in Houston.

MOST RECENT SCHOLARSHIP WINNER

The recipient of the Fall 2013 scholarship is Aleah Chang, an undergraduate neuroscience major at the University of Michigan.  Chang, a member of the class of 2014, plans to attend medical school and pursue a career in internal medicine or as a pediatrician. While in school, Chang is involved in many university academic and social clubs including the Phi Delta Epsilon International Medical Fraternity and Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She also serves as a research assistant in the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program.
