Hamilton Paret To Sign With Sam Houston State University
HOUSTON, Feb. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Hamilton Paret, a Houston Christian High School Senior, is humbled that he has been given the opportunity to play football for Sam Houston State University. His skills as a top Texas High School running back have caught the attention of several four year universities but tomorrow he will make it official as he signs his National Letter of Intent to play with the Bearkats. Hamilton will have a formal signing party tomorrow February 5th, 2014 at Houston Christian High School. The signing party will take place in the Alumni Room beginning at 11:20 a.m.
Hamilton has worked hard on and off the field to make this dream come true. During his senior football season he was nominated by The Touchdown Club of Houston as the 2013 Offensive Player of the Year, the Houston Chronicle named him Athlete of the Week, and he was selected to play in the All Conference All-Star game.
Hamilton will be an asset to the Bearkats and will add to their impressive roster, a running back who has proven himself in the high school arena. The six-foot, one hundred and eighty pound powerhouse had a total of 138 carries for a total of 1199 yards rushing and eighteen touchdowns in 2013. Sam Houston State University's new head coach K.C. Keeler, promised to hit the ground running by recruiting top talent, which is precisely what he did with Hamilton Paret.
Sam Houston State University is one of the premiere programs in all of the NCAA Division 1-AA Conference. The Bearkats have eleven conference championships, have seen post-season playoff action in 6 seasons, have reached the NCAA Division 1-AA Championship games in 2011 and in 2012, and have three bowl game victories. The school is a member of the Southland Conference.
