HOUSTON, Oct. 15, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The Houston Maritime Center & Museum is pleased to announce its next Maritime Monday program featuring Anne Olson, President of Buffalo Bayou Partnership (BBP), on Monday, October 20, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. CDT at 2940 Riverby Road, Suite 200, Houston, TX 77020.
For more than three decades, Anne Olson has been a driving force behind the transformation of Houston's historic waterway. Under her leadership, Buffalo Bayou Partnership has raised and leveraged more than $400 million in public and private funds, produced award-winning master plans, and created one of the most celebrated urban green corridors in the nation.
With catalyst gifts from Houston's Kinder Foundation, BBP transformed the 160-acre Buffalo Bayou Park and is now leading a $310 million redevelopment east of downtown, reconnecting communities along the bayou with parks, trails, public art, and new gathering spaces.
Olson's work has earned national recognition, including the American Society of Landscape Architects Award of Excellence, the Urban Land Institute's Award of Excellence: The Americas Finalist, and ULI Houston's 2024 Moonshot Award for transformational urban vision. She is a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum and has served on boards including the Cultural Arts Council of Houston and Harris County (now Houston Arts Alliance) and Talento Bilingüe de Houston.
This Maritime Monday conversation will highlight the synergy between Buffalo Bayou Partnership's visionary work and Houston's maritime legacy, exploring how the city's waterways continue to shape its economy, culture, and connection to the world.
