Husband-wife Team to Discuss Responsible Undersea Exploration

JUPITER, Fla., Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- A husband-and-wife team having worked more than two decades as international undersea explorers documenting historic significance shipwrecks and other underwater events are taking to the road to discuss their latest books.

One is A Guide to Responsible Undersea Exploration, is written by Captain Dominic Addario, which outlines for divers the underwater exploration trade along with the historical preservation obligations as well as the professional, ethical, and economic consequences involved when investigating such events. The other, Treasure Diving with Captain Dom, written by Yvonne Addario, is a full color illustrated, young teen/adult version whose goal is to instill in the reader that the Age of Discovery is still alive while setting the record straight about the Jupiter Historic Shipwreck site. Both are published by Adventure in Discovery Publishing.

Over 15,000 artifacts have been discovered from the treasure-laden vessel they believe to be a king's messenger ship, having foundered off the Florida coast in 1660. They also find on pre-archaic artifacts, including a piece believed to be one of only 100 known such items in the world, which dates to between 500 B.C. to possibly earlier than 5,000 B.C. Both books guide individuals to making appropriate decisions, if divers encounter something of value while diving.  

Captain Dom, as he is familiarly known, is the original principal investigator of the underwater exploration and salvage team of Jupiter Wreck, Inc. He is a U.S. Coast Guard licensed master merchant marine officer and president of the Jupiter Coins salvage team. A frequent speaker for the cruise industry's enrichment and educational programs, he synthesizes a lifetime's experience in underwater exploration in his latest work.  

His wife, Yvonne, also has been working on an explorer's cookbook and travel guide based on the historical facts and experiences of New World explorers and pirates.
