Hutchinson Public Schools Continues Their Paperless Initiative
Converts from LaserFiche to API's OptiView Document Management Solution
BOCA RATON, Fla., Nov. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Advanced Processing & Imaging, Inc. (API), a developer of document management and business process automation software today announced that Hutchinson Public Schools located in Hutchinson, KS selected API's OptiView® Document Management solution for use across the district.
Hutchinson Public Schools dates back to a one-room school that opened four years before the city of Hutchinson was incorporated. Today, the district supports more than 5,000 students and is comprised of twelve schools ranging from Pre-K through 12th Grade plus Hutchinson Career & Technical Educational Academy.
Like so many school districts across the country, Hutchison was challenged with storing and managing hundreds of thousands of paper documents used across their HR, Finance and Student Records departments but after several years of using a LaserFiche Document Management software solution, the district's needs had evolved in a different direction. Most importantly, Hutchinson wanted a solution that was seamlessly integrated with their Skyward Student Management Suite and School Business Suite applications and turned to API for a solution.
"Our LaserFiche solution just didn't meet our needs and it doesn't seem designed for School Districts and the Education industry," says Corbin Phillips, Skyward Database Administrator, Hutchinson Public Schools. "The main reason we're converting to API's OptiView is the seamless integration with our Skyward Student and Back-office systems so documents related to work-at-hand are automatically delivered to our staff while they work in Skyward—all without having to search," says Jason Reed, Coordinator of Technology, Hutchison Public Schools.
Hutchinson is ready to roll out OptiView in their HR department and already has plans to expand its use in their Student Records, Payroll and Business Office departments as well as in their Career and Technology Academy.
"API provided excellent implementation and support services right from the start of this project," says Rick Kraus, Assistant Superintendent, Hutchinson Public Schools HR Department. "My team is excited to get started."
Hutchinson anticipates great return on investment (ROI) from API's OptiView, derived from increased staff productivity, faster processing and reduced costs across the district.
"With OptiView in place, Hutchinson staff can spend more time focusing on providing excellent Student, Parent, Faculty and Staff services while optimizing resources," says Juan Rodriguez, CEO, Advanced Processing & Imaging. "We're thrilled to add Hutchinson Public Schools to our growing family of 'Raving Fans'."
