iCMG Awards 27 Companies for Excellence in Enterprise, Business and IT Architecture in 2014

27 companies from across the world walked away with the iCMG Architecture Excellence Award 2014 during the glittering awards night held at The Mövenpick Hotel, Bangalore on the 18th of November, 2014. The winners were selected from more than 170 nominations for four different categories - technical, business, enterprise and industry verticals.

iCMG's 'Global Business CIOs' Award has been instituted this year. The goal is to recognize CIOs contribution to the growth of their organization through Enterprise and IT Architecture.

Ronald Ross, considered to be the father of Business Rules, has graced the occasion by accepting the 'iCMG Hall of Fame Award', presented to him by John Zachman.
The iCMG Excellence Award for Enterprise Architecture was shared by SBI General Insurance India and Cisco Systems Inc. USA, while the award for IT Landscape Rationalization went to PTI CONSULTING LIMITED, Kenya. mBank S.A, Poland and Tata Teleservices Ltd., India jointly won the award in the 'Business Intelligence and Analytics' category. General Services Administration, USA won the award for Architecture Governance. The Transformation and Planning Award went to Commercial Bank of Dubai, UAE.
In the Business category, in the 'Customer Oriented Business Models' it was National Library Board, Singapore who took the award home. Fonecta Oy's architecture work was adjudged to be the best in the Business Process Management Category. The architecture of Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad, Malaysia and Economic Cities Authority, Saudi Arabia were jointly adjudged by the jury to be the best in the 'Growing Business in New Territory & Service' category.
The business domain specific awards were presented to Alcatel-Lucent India Limited (Telecom), Renault Brazil (Manufacturing), Johnny Rockets USA (Retail), FNB, South Africa for BFSI and Northumbrian Water Group UK and Ontario Ministry of Transportation for defense/government domain, while the award in healthcare was won by Zoetis, USA. Also this year we have introduced a new category 'Enterprise and IT architecture in Energy and Utility' which was won by MWH Global UK.
The awards in the Technical category were won by global companies such as Cathay Pacific Airways, Hong Kong (SOA Vision for Enterprise), Flytxt, India (Best Software Architecture in IT Products), Fujitsu Consulting India (Emerging Technologies), Cohesiveft, UK (Cloud Technologies) and the award for Best IT Infrastructure was won by Allied Telesis, Singapore.
The awards in the 'Special Recognition' category were won by Network International, UAE, Wellink, LLC, Russia and Polaris Financial Technology Ltd.
Speaking on the occasion, John A Zachman said, "The Information Age paradigm is not about Building and Running Systems but about Engineering and manufacturing enterprises, and that is what ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE really is; a different and new paradigm which has to do with engineering ENTERPRISES to be 'lean and mean', integrated, flexible, interoperable, and aligned. These are not implementation driven characteristics but deep engineering. That is why I say that enterprise architecture is the issue of the century."
The awards were interspersed with dance performances showcasing Indian and European culture and thus reflecting the spirit of the awards and celebrations.
