In 2014, there are 170 entries competing for 21 awards. These nominations have come from over 24 countries. These CIOs are chosen from the entries (nominations) who have won in one or more categories in iCMG Architecture Excellence Awards.

This recognition is first-of-its-kind, as it evaluates CIOs based on their leadership in "projects" or "initiatives" with a high degree of business influence and measurable results using Enterprise & IT Architecture. It's interesting to note how these global CIOs are shifting to "Architecture centric" decision-making process to guarantee sustainable business value.

These global CIOs are a true representation of the new way of thinking and effective decision-making selection process. The 20 Global CIOs winners are chosen from organizations who have reached the final round of award competition. There are no separate nominations for participating in this award category. All the chosen CIOs are from the entries that have reached the final round of the 2014 edition of iCMG Architecture Excellence Awards.

There are three key parameters used to identify the winners this year:
