The healthcare sector is witnessing a slow adoption of cloud computing as a result of concerns regarding the protection and security of private data.

In the next two years, solutions such as PLM, BPM, and CLM are set to garner greater interest, as the highest percentage of healthcare providers are planning to invest in each of these applications respectively.
The survey reveals that 45% of respondents are currently investing in real-time business intelligence. However, the demand for this technology is set to grow, as the highest proportion of healthcare providers are planning investments in this space through to the end of 2014.
Employee/supplier facing application development is key area of investment for healthcare providers, with the second highest penetration rate of 59%. As an increasing number of medical professionals are using smartphones to access patient information and research data, 54% of healthcare providers are planning to invest in these applications through to the end of 2014.
Web/video conferencing is set to garner greater investments from healthcare providers, with the highest percentage of respondents planning to invest here through to the end of 2014.
According to the survey, software as a service (SaaS) is the most widely deployed cloud computing solution amongst healthcare providers, with a current adoption rate of X%. In an effort to reduce costs and minimise the IT management burden, the highest percentage of healthcare providers are planning to invest in SaaS in the next two years.
