ID Theft Assist Pledges to Follow the Consumer Federation of America's ID Theft Services Best Practices
BOONTON, N.J., March 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Worldwide Benefit Services, LLC (WBS), the creator of the ID Theft Assist(SM) program, is proud to be part of the Consumer Federation of America's (CFA) working group that designed the Best Practices for Identity Theft Services, released this morning in Washington, DC. WBS furthermore is committed to following these guidelines 100%.
"Worldwide Benefit Services was proud to contribute towards creating a level of consumer standards for our industry," said Chris Ward, Principal of Worldwide Benefit Services. "We believe that in providing our product, ID Theft Assist, we have always and will continue to fully live up to the principles announced today. We hope others will follow suit."
Those involved in the project noted that in addition to providing guidance to the industry, the standards will help consumers understand what identity theft services offer and look for those that follow good practices. The CFA plans to follow up in six months with the companies, like WBS, that pledge to follow the standards, and will encourage other providers to do so.
WBS welcomes all to examine the best practices suggested by the CFA working group, especially consumers who are making a decision to purchase identity theft services. The document can be found at http://www.consumerfed.org/idtheft/CFA-Best-Practices-Id-Theft-Services.pdf.
