IDS Transportation Services VP, Shelli Austin, Selected as Progressive Railroading's Top 20 'Rising Stars' of Railroading
PLAINFIELD, Ind., May 23, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Progressive Railroading announced 20 individuals selected by the magazine's editorial staff as the 'Rising Stars' of North America's railroad industry.
Progressive Railroading Magazine defines a 'Rising Star' as "someone under the age of 40 who is making a positive impact on his or her own company, organization, department or team, and is viewed by others -peers, colleagues, supervisors, clients and associates - as a 'rising star' of the industry."
During the two-month process, over 100 individuals were nominated from industries such as; Class 1 railroads, regionals, short lines, passenger railroads, transit agencies, government agencies, academic institutions, engineering firms or suppliers. Nominated candidates were considered for recognition based on various qualities including; their contributions to railroading, career achievements, demonstrated leadership, education and/or professional training and professional association activity or community involvement.
The magazine has selected and announced, as of May 13, 2013, the 20 individual winners and will publish their profiles in their September 2013 edition. Shelli Austin, Vice President of IDS Transportation Services, LLC, was among this list of winners.
Shelli Austin has been considered a leader in the transportation and intermodal/railroad industry for over 16 years. She started in the shipper world as a buyer of transportation services and for the last 9 years has been on the solutions side of the Industry. Shelli's main focus is to stay on the cutting edge of advances in the Intermodal Industry to help IDS offer their customers the most economical and efficient services such as the Co-Branding effort with the Union Pacific. She has been actively involved with the TIA with a focus on their Intermodal expansion efforts and has participated as a panel speaker for the TIA, IANA, and MARS to offer education the broker and shipper community on using Intermodal products.
