If You Think Your Family Physician Is Great, NJAFP Is Listening
Call for Nominations for NJ Family Physician of the Year
TRENTON, N.J., April 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Is your family doctor the best of the best? Is he or she talented, caring---deserving of the title, New Jersey Family Physician of the Year? If yes, the New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians (NJAFP) is looking for a few great physicians to be considered for the Academy's 2013 Family Physician of the Year Award. Patients, the public and physicians are invited to submit nominations no later than May 10, 2013.
New Jersey Family Physician of the Year recipients embody the qualities of excellence in the practice of family medicine. The award recognizes a family physician who is a role model to colleagues and other professionals, committed to healing, and an asset to the community.
The NJAFP has been advancing the cause of family physicians and their patients for over 50 years. With nearly 2000 members, the Academy is the largest primary care medical society in the state. New Jersey's honoree will then compete among other state winners at the national level for the American Academy of Family Physicians Family Physician of the Year Award.
Selecting a Candidate
The Selection Committee has advised that family physicians who "provide compassionate, comprehensive medical care on a continuing basis, are involved in activities that enhance the quality of life in the community, and personify the role of family physicians as a healers" will be considered. The Selection Committee also requires that nominees have been in Family Medicine in New Jersey for at least ten years, are Board Certified in Family Medicine and are upstanding members of their communities.
